Thus far, I have taken a look at Fedora 9 (which is way outdated by now, but that’s ok) and Slackware 12.2. I’m not quite done with writing about Slackware 12.2, but I figured I’d give everyone here a heads up as to what would be the next stop in the Distro Journey Series. As it turns out, the first commercial distribution I’ll be running is iMagicOS, which is based on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, which is probably a good idea seeing as how support for that base will end in April of 2011. Another bit of disclosure for everyone: Carlos La Borde is also the first to take my free advertisement challenge. So if the product performs well enough, he gets advertised for the rest of the year for free. We’ll see how it works out (oh, and he’s quite nervous about it by the way).
